Recently, our team embarked on a team synergy session to Badagry, an ancient city in Lagos steeped in history from the transatlantic slave trade era.
During our visit, we explored numerous historical sites and landmarks that vividly depict its significant role in the slave trade. We had the opportunity to delve into relics such as the Slave Port, once a departure point for enslaved Africans bound for the Global Slave Markets.
The Point of No Return, a poignant spot marking the final departure of slaves, left a lasting impact on our team.
Our visit to various museums and monuments further deepened our understanding of this tragic chapter in history, transforming what we had previously read from books into a stark reality.
These experiences served as a profound learning curve, offering valuable insights into the resilience and survival of those who endured the atrocities of slavery. Museums, cultural centers, and heritage sites in Badagry work tirelessly to preserve and share these stories, ensuring that the legacy of this dark period is never forgotten.
